Secan 3.0

Secan 3.0. Endlessly versatile; Gravel, tarmac, everywhere….. Its design revolves around the simple idea that you can transition between road and off-road and still ride fast.

Real-world riding drives the design of this bike. A performance tube set that feels lively and eager, not over-built. A custom-formed and shaped rear triangle for maximum comfort. A light-weight and confidence-inspiring carbon fork with cage mounts, rando rack compatibility and internally sleeved dynamo routing.

A geometry and ride position that feels familiar and efficient on the road but stable and predictable off-road. A more sloping top tube to aid maneuverability and increase comfort when things get rough.

Huge tyre clearance. The frame features ports for dynamo rear lighting, with clever solutions for every type of configuration; representing a level of care and detailing that you would normally only see in the custom world.

Modular design solutions across the frameset – helping us to future-proof your investment.

Versatility. Designed to be your most used bike.

Proportional Geometry

Better fitting bikes

All Fairlight bikes have been thoughtfully conceived with the rider in mind. Everybody is different; our bikes are designed to account for differences in body proportions, not just overall height. We call this ‘proportional geometry’. We offer all of our frame sizes in (R)egular and (T)all versions so that you can achieve your perfect fit.

R – Regular

Lower at the front and longer in reach. Designed for people with shorter legs and a longer back but just as suitable for riders wanting a lower and racier riding position.

T – Tall

Higher at the front and shorter in reach. Designed for people with longer legs and a shorter back but also appropriate for riders who want a more upright riding position.

Frame Bag Guide

If you are planning on fitting a frame bag to your Secan, then you can use the below guide sheet to get all the dimensions you need. It includes all front triangle inside measurements and angles, as well as downtube safe zones for straps for full frame bags.

Where are Fairlight bikes made?

Our Strael, Secan, Faran and Holt frames are handmade and painted in Taiwan. All bikes are individually assembled to order in our London UK workshop.

Can I order my bike without wheels?

No, unfortunately we cannot sell a bike without wheels. It is not possible to ship, prepare or build a bike without wheels.

Can I order components with my frameset?

No, we cannot ship any additional components in the frame box, e.g. groupset, handlebars, etc., with a frameset. The options we offer are a full build or a frameset.

Do you have a mudguard / fender recommendation?

We recommend any of the mudguards offered by SKS. If you want something a little more special we suggest the Portland Design Works Full Metal Fenders.
– PDW Full Metal Fenders 37mm for 30mm tyres or narrower.
– PDW Full Metal Fenders 45mm for 35mm tyres or narrower. You an also go with the 45mm guards for more coverage on narrower tyres.

As the fittings are standard, any mudguards will work. You will need to create a hole in the mudguard to attach it to the seatstay bridge. Some mudguards require a small bit of trimming to fit in between the chainstays. We cannot fit mudguards to bikes, either sent or collected.

What rack do you recommend?

We would recommend anything from Tubus. As the mounts for the rack are standard any brand will fit.

How much assembly is required when my Fairlight bike arrives?

All Fairlights are shipped in boxes specifically designed to enable the bike to be safe and protected in transit. When your bike arrives you will need to fit the front wheel, handlebars and seatpost. Pedals are not included but will also need to be fitted before its maiden voyage.

How will my Fairlight frameset arrive?

All Fairlights are shipped in boxes specifically designed to enable safe and protected transportation. When your frameset is assembled by our mechanics all threads are tapped and inspected with bolts fitted where necessary. If ordered, the headset cups are installed into the frame and the crown race is fitted to the fork, if not, the headtube is reamed and faced ready for headset installation. The bottom bracket shell is chased and faced ready for a bottom bracket to be fitted with ease.

Where's the manual?

Recovery - India Landy

In this short film, Fairlight team rider India Landy talks about how ultra-distance cycling helped her to heal and recover. Beautifully honest and insightful and highlights, how on some level, cycling is medicine for all of us; mindfulness, routine, ups and downs, highs and lows, escapism.
