BETTER FITTING BIKES

All Fairlight bikes have been thoughtfully conceived with the rider in mind.  Everybody is different; our bikes are designed to account for differences in body proportions, not just overall height.  We call this ‘proportional geometry’.  We offer all of our frame sizes in (R)egular and (T)all versions so that you can achieve your perfect fit.

R – REGULAR

Lower at the front and longer in reach.  Designed for people with shorter legs and a longer back but just as suitable for riders wanting a lower and racier riding position.

T – TALL

Higher at the front and shorter in reach.  Designed for people with longer legs and a shorter back but also appropriate for riders who want a more upright riding position.

FINDING THE RIGHT SIZE AND GEOMETRY

We always recommend having a bike fit.  There is no better way to find your optimum position for cycling, enabling you to find both comfort and efficiency on the bike.  It makes even more sense as we are one of the few bike companies that let you specify your stem length, handlebar width and crank length.

Having a bike fit on an adjustable jig, will find your optimum position for riding.  This can then be transferred to the correctly sized frame with the correct selection of the right component sizes.  By getting your fit in advance of ordering your bike, you will know that the position is correct from the start and there will be no need for any additional costs for changing the size of components.

We would recommend seeing the cost of the bike fit as an investment in yourself and your new bike. A good position will help you avoid injury and save money in the long run. If you need a recommendation for a local bike fitter, please get in touch.

If you’ve already had a bike fit, then you can send us your fit information and we will create a Fairlight Fit Report with our recommendation of the required frame and component sizes to match your position.

If you haven’t had a fitting yet, you can use our online Fit Guide Tool to help find the right frame size for you.
